Dollface
The tragic tale of the largely unimpressive life of Maríon, an artist dreaming of bigger things, caught in a Sisyphean spiral of poetry, puppetry and pipes.
Music, misery and a man named Maríon collide in Dollface.
Introducing audiences to a world of defective dreams and poetic pessimism, Dollface is a site-specific outdoor performance that swills together striking visuals, an original script and unique live music to breathe life into one man's eternal struggle to break the circular motion of his existence.
Performed atop the Castle Mound with beautiful views over the Taw providing a backdrop, Dollface was devised by i.e., inspired by the works of Albert Camus and performed by five students and alumni from the local area.
Dollface was created for and with the support of the fantastic Barnstaple Fringe Theatrefest. Every year the festival brings its invigorating, innovative presence to the town of Barnstaple, hosting creatives both near and afar in 4 days of intense theatrical energy.
